Support the Valley Forge Park Alliance

Support the Valley Forge Park Alliance image

Naked and starving as they are, we cannot enough admire the incomparable patience and fidelity of the soldiery.

These famous words from George Washington's letter to Governor George Clinton, written while encamped at Valley Forge, adorn the National Memorial Arch. Standing in silent witness over Valley Forge National Historical Park, the Arch is a reminder—carved in stone—that even when things seem to be at their worst, hope is not lost if we have each other.

2025 was a difficult year for both the Park and the Alliance: a 24 percent loss of the National Park Service's workforce nationwide since January; delays in renovations to the Maurice Stephens House; and as of this writing, Park staff are finally going back to work after a long furlough and program disruption due to the government shutdown.

But hope is not lost, as we have each other. The Park has the Alliance to step in with programming when its doors are closed, and with ways to support the Park staff when they are in need. The Alliance has you, our friends and supporters, to bolster the legacy of Valley Forge with financial and volunteer resources.

Just as the Park needs the Alliance more than ever, so we need you more than ever. Please consider an end-of-year gift to the Valley Forge Park Alliance, and make an impact that will help our Park in 2026 and beyond. Your support carries forward that spirit of perseverance and unity that Washington saw in his soldiery, at a time when both are sorely needed.

Sincerely,

Molly Duffy, Executive Director

Scott Sibley, Board Chair
